There is a Show Choir Poster Committee Meeting this Friday morning (September 27) at 8:15 a.m. in the music room. I realize it is short notice! If you cannot make arrangements to be there or if you cannot arrive as early as 8:15, no worries! Come to the music room when you can! We need a poster to announce the upcoming Show Choir auditions (for special roles for the December concerts). The poster materials will be provided.
Auditions for special roles will be during the regular Show Choir rehearsal time beginning on October 8 and continuing throughout the next rehearsal or two depending on how many singers audition. Students do NOT need to memorize anything to audition.
By the December Concerts, students will need a nice pair of solid black pants and nice long sleeved solid black shirt. The colorful accessories will be provided from the Show Choir fund (bright scarves for girls to tie around their waist and neck ties for the boys). Please contact Dr. Cavener ASAP if this poses a financial hardship for anyone.
Should the shirt have a collar?
ReplyDeleteYes, I have ordered green, yellow, and blue neck ties for the boys in the choir and the black shirts will need a collar. The "splash" of color will look cool with the black shirts/pants!
DeleteI ordered waist/hip scarves for the girls: Half of the order is silver and white with sequins and the other half is bright pink with sequins.
The cost of the neck ties and scarves will come from the Show Choir account and the singers will keep the item at the end of the year if they wish.
Auditions for special roles in the Holiday show begin Tuesday! They will be simple and painless; nothing needs to be memorized. I am looking for "potential" for the particular roles, not perfection!!
